Sortegories™ users can filter the module table within the Assign Student Activities page by the active groups they lead if the 95 Literacy Intervention System™ (LIS) is enabled, streamlining module assignments and progress review.
Active groups are created and managed from the Groups page’s Active Groups tab.
Access the Active Groups tab by selecting Groups from the navigation panel and clicking Active Groups in the menu at the top of the page.
Contact your main district contact if you need to work on grouping and cannot access the Groups page.
The Active Groups tab contains the intervention groups created around the diagnostic data captured by the LIS and miscellaneous groups within your classroom or school.
Groups are displayed as tiles on the left-hand side of the Active Groups tab.
Each user can either view the groups they lead and have created or all the groups in the school.
To become the leader of an existing group, click the ellipsis menu in the upper right-hand corner of the group tile. Then, click the pencil icon to edit the group and modify the Group Leader drop-down with your name before clicking Save.
To create a new group, click + Add a Group. Then, complete the fields and select your name from the Group Leader drop-down before clicking Save.
Once a group has been created, students can be added. To add a student to a group, drag and drop their student info card from the All Students panel onto the desired group tile.
Students can participate in up to three groups concurrently: one Classroom group, one Tier 2 group, and one Tier 3 group.
Students must be removed from a given group to be placed in another group of the same type (e.g., Classroom).
To remove a student from a group, click the group tile to which the student is involved. Next, click the student info card of the student you want to remove. Click the red minus icon before clicking Yes, Please Continue.
Once the active group reflects the students you will be working with for Sortegories practice, navigate to the Assign Student Activities page.
Access the Assign Student Activities page by selecting Activities from the navigation panel.
Use the Groups drop-down to filter the students displayed within the module table by the groups you lead.
Mark the checkboxes next to one or multiple groups. Click Done once complete.
Note: If LIS users are not associated with at least one active group or the LIS is disabled, users will not see the Groups drop-down.
Groups can be created, modified, and deleted from the Active Groups tab at any time.
