Sortegories Resource Tile
The Sortegories resource tile is housed within the Resources page.
Access the Resources page by selecting Resources from the navigation panel.
Sortegories is available as a resource tile in the My Resources section or carousel for Sortegories users by default.
The Sortegories resource tile contains two icons: Favorites heart and open.
Favorites Heart Icon
Click the empty Favorites heart icon to favorite Sortegories and bring it forward to the Today page carousel.
The Today page is the One95 homepage. This facilitates Sortegories being readily accessible upon login.
Click the filled Favorites heart icon again to remove the Sortegories resource tile from the Today page. Sortegories can be accessed and re-favorited from the Resources page at any time.
Open Icon
Click the open icon to launch Sortegories.
From here, educators can preview the activities within each module across all levels and review the supplemental resources.
Module Previews
To preview a module, start by choosing one of the available levels: Level A, Level B, and Level C.
Each level contains six modules. Select from Module 1 through Module 6 by clicking Module 1 through Module 6, respectively.
After selecting a module, a 3x3 grid consisting of nine activities will be displayed. Each tile displays the activity name and color.
Activity names slightly differ between levels. In the example above, Level A is shown.
Select from one of the activities by clicking the tile. The activity will open, ready for demoing individually or as a larger group.
- Skip the opening animation by clicking anywhere on the screen as it plays.
- Bypass the instructions and example walkthrough by clicking the Skip button that appears at the bottom of the screen.
Click the X icon in the upper right-hand corner of the activity to return to the Resources or Today pages.
Note:
- Score data will not be saved.
- The student flipbook cannot be accessed from the resource tile.
Ancillary Materials
Printable ancillary materials are available within the Sortegories resource tile to support educators’ understanding and implementation of Sortegories.
Note that leveraging these resources is not required for instruction.
Getting Started with Sortegories
This video provides an in-depth Sortegories walkthrough for new users.
Getting Started Guides for Levels ABC
This collection of user guides serves to provide information in meaningful chunks while learning Sortegories.
When read in the order provided, educators will progress from a basic getting started level to learning how to use Sortegories as a powerful prescriptive learning tool to differentiate instructional and practice for all students.
- Getting Started with Sortegories
This user guide outlines background information about Sortegories and how to get started.
- Digging Deeper into Sortegories
This user guide outlines how to use instructional help to support educators and differentiate instruction for students.
- Sortegories Diagnostic Teaching Guide
This user guide outlines how to use Sortegories as a prescriptive teaching tool.
- Sortegories Activities and Learning Objectives
This user guide provides a pictorial example of each activity with learning objectives that can be edited to meet students’ needs.
- Sortegories Activities and Goals for Differentiation
This user guide builds on the “Sortegories Activities and Learning Objectives” guide by adding goals for differentiation for each activity.
These goal starters should be edited to meet local guidelines for individual reading plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives.
Scope and Sequence for Levels ABC
The charts outline the phonology and sound to syntax scope and sequence for each level.
Diagnostic Teaching Tools for Levels ABC
The diagnostic teaching tools can be added to teachers’ toolbox to measure progress and inform instruction.
- ABC Spelling Inventory for Placement
The spelling inventories can be used as existing student data to determine the placement of older students in intervention.
- ABC Encoding Progress Checks
Sortegories includes an optional encoding placement test across all levels. These progress checks monitor students' foundational skills.
Students can take the test on the paper provided or using standard paper. Spelling errors can inform Sortegories placement by matching the errors to the phonology scope and sequence by using existing classroom data, aligning with the Tier 1 curriculum, or a combination of these.
- Level ABC Phrase/Sentence/Passage Fluency
The Level A Phrase Fluency, Level B Sentence Fluency, and Level C Passage Fluency materials are 30-second timed decodable readers that monitor accuracy, fluency, and prosody.
High Frequency Heart Words for Levels ABC
This collection of resources pulls out the “heart words” used in Levels A and B and the high-frequency words (which continue without the hearts) in Level C and organizes them by module.
Heart words are high-frequency words that contain an irregularity that does not fit any learned pattern. This irregularity is known as the heart sound because it must be learned by heart. The rest of the word must be decoded.
Student Ribbon Success Logs
The printable student ribbon success logs allow students to track and share their progress offline with families and other educators.
Students can track their activity progress by coloring the ribbons for their highest score and paw prints to match their number of attempts.
Reporting
Launching activities from the Sortegories resource tile is tracked in two ways in One95: the Data Insights page and the Settings page’s Activity tab.
Data Insights Page
The Data Insights page is the One95 dashboard that offers centralized system insights.
Access the Data Insights page by selecting Data Insights from the navigation panel.
The Active Resources Users and Resource Access Minutes tiles track the data related to opening and previewing the Sortegories resource tile activities and ancillary materials.
To learn more about the Data Insights page, reference our article on Data Insights Page.
Activity Tab
The Settings page’s Activity tab enables the download of One95 usage reports across the district.
One95 Administrators can access the Settings page by selecting Settings from the navigation panel and clicking Activity in the menu at the top of the page.
Note: Users can reference their role by clicking the user bubble icon next to the question mark icon throughout the platform at any time.
The resource-access export includes a record for each time users opened Sortegories activities and ancillary materials from the resource tile.
