Table of Contents
Educators can assign Sortegories™ modules and track student progress from the Assign Student Activities page in the One95™ platform.
Assigning Activities
The module table within the Assign Student Activities page enables educators to assign Sortegories modules to students in their class or care.
The table’s columns are labeled Module 1 through Module 6. These columns represent the six Sortegories modules within each level: A, B, and C. Alternate between levels using the Level drop-down.
Modules can be assigned individually or in bulk by clicking the closed-eye icons.
- Clicking the closed-eye icons within individual student rows adds the module to the student’s flipbook.
- Clicking the closed-eye icons within module columns adds the module to the flipbooks of every student displayed in the table.
Modules can be unassigned individually or in bulk by clicking the open-eye icons.
This removes the module from the flipbooks of one or many students.
To streamline assignments, educators can filter the students displayed within the module table by name, grade, and – if the 95 Literacy Intervention System™ (LIS) is enabled – by the active groups they lead, using the filters above the module table.
Filters can be used in conjunction with one another and the search bar.
To learn more about filtering by active groups, reference our article on Sortegories™ Groups.
Tracking Progress
The module table provides a high-level view of what students have achieved within their assigned activities.
3x3 Grid
Modules across all levels provide nine sequenced activities in a 3x3 grid.
Activity names slightly differ between levels. In the example above, Level A is shown.
Each row of activities focuses on one of three main areas of literacy skill development.
- The first row represents the Read and Spell activities.
- The second row represents the Word Meaning activities.
- The third row represents the Comprehension activities.
A 3x3 grid is displayed within the student rows of every module column, reflecting a miniature version. The squares within the grid are color-coded based on student progress.
- Green squares indicate the student’s highest score among every completed activity attempt is 80% or higher.
- Orange squares indicate the student’s highest score among every completed activity attempt is less than 80%.
- Gray squares indicate the student started their first activity attempt but did not complete it (e.g., logged out, got frustrated).
- White squares indicate the student has not completed an activity attempt.
Hover over the Info Key button to reference the 3x3 grid color criteria at any time.
To print the information within the Info Key, reference our article on Sortegories™ Info Key.
Row Boxes
The boxes alongside the 3x3 grid represent the activities within each row’s skill group.
- The ROW 1 box represents the Read and Spell activities.
- The ROW 2 box represents the Word Meaning activities.
- The ROW 3 box represents the Comprehension activities.
Each box displays the student’s average score across all three activities. The box colors are an additional indicator of the student’s score.
- Green boxes represent a mastery of 80% or better.
- Orange boxes represent a mastery of less than 80%.
- Light blue boxes represent no complete attempts.
Hover over the Info Key button to reference the skill groups and ROW boxes color criteria at any time.

Note: Student averages will be rounded up or down using standard rounding logic.
Reading Results
In the example below, student Ruth Rose needs intervention in Row 1: Read and Spell.
This is evidenced by the orange ROW 1 box in Ruth’s row, indicating she received an activity score of 79% or below.

All students in the class scored an average of greater than 80% in Row 2: Word Meaning but scored less than 80% in Row 3: Comprehension. Ruth did not complete Row 3.
It is important to look at individual scores to determine achievement for each activity.
Drilling Down
To drill down into students’ module progress and learn more about their activity-specific performance, click anywhere on the student’s row except their name.
Note the module summary uses the same color criteria as the module table.
In the example below, student Darin Robinson received a 91% average for Row 1: Read and Spell.
Darin completed every Row 1 activity, two activities in Row 2: Word Meaning, and one in Row 3: Comprehension. He attempted the Analogy Building, Grammar Sort, and Phrase Building activities, but did not complete them.
Darin’s highest score was 77% for the Build It activity in Row 1. He completed Build It three times and scored lower than 80%. Darin attempted the activity one additional time, but did not finish it.
It is important to note that, although Darin had an average score of 91% for Row 1, he needs additional support and practice with Build It.
Student View
The student flipbook houses students’ Sortegories modules.
Modules will be dynamically presented on the flipbook homepage as they are assigned and unassigned.
Students track their module results in two ways within the flipbook: ribbons and progress overviews.
Ribbons
Students receive ribbons at the end of each activity if they scored 80% or above.
- 80-89% earns a gold ribbon.
- 90-99% earn a red ribbon.
- 100% earns a blue ribbon.
Note there are two sets of ribbon criteria used in Sortegories.
Ribbons will populate the 3x3 grid if the student progresses through the module with a score of at least 80%.
- 80-89% earns a gold ribbon.
- 90-99% earn gold and red ribbons.
- 100% earns gold, red, and blue ribbons.
In the example above, the student completed Sound Match with 100% accuracy, Map It and Relate It with 90-99% accuracy, and Build It with 80-89% accuracy.
Students can re-try activities as often as they want until they reach a desired score or the module is unassigned.
Results Screen
Students will view a printable results screen with item-specific feedback after completing each activity.
The results screen provides insights into the student’s performance and includes the ribbon that matches their level of mastery.
